About

I am a criminal defence lawyer at Strategic Criminal Defence, a full-service criminal law firm with offices across Western Canada and Ontario. My practice is rooted in a passion for advocacy, a deep respect for the rule of law, and a commitment to standing beside my clients at every step of the legal process.

Raised in Calgary, I’ve always been drawn to work that’s grounded in service, fairness, and an understanding of the social systems that shape people’s lives. These values continue to guide me in my legal career as I advocate for clients facing some of life’s most difficult moments.

Educational Background

My legal journey began with a global perspective in mind. I earned my Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Liverpool, where I explored how legal systems operate both in theory and in practice. While there, I engaged in hands-on legal work through the university’s law clinic, focusing on immigration issues and assisting individuals in navigating complex administrative systems.

My academic interests have always centred on the intersection of law, technology, and access to justice. I participated in a research initiative at the University of Liverpool that used IBM Watson to develop legal chatbots—tools designed to help everyday people understand their rights and legal options, particularly in personal injury law.

Legal Experience and Practice

Before becoming a criminal defence associate, I articled with Leochko Froese Law, where I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of files involving bail, sentencing, and constitutional issues. I assisted senior counsel in all stages of litigation, from file preparation and disclosure management to court appearances and client communication.

My previous role as a Judicial Clerk in the Provincial Court (Criminal Division) gave me a strong foundation in courtroom procedure and an appreciation for the importance of clarity, diligence, and respect in all legal proceedings.

I’ve long been interested in how technology and justice intersect and how we can use innovation to close gaps in access and build more equitable systems. My early work on legal chatbots aimed to simplify legal processes for the public, particularly in areas where timely legal help can make all the difference. I continue to follow developments in criminal justice reform and access to justice.

Community Involvement and Mentorship

Throughout my legal education and career, I’ve been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors, lawyers, professors, and community leaders who’ve emphasized the importance of giving back. I’ve worked in pro bono settings, led student initiatives in legal societies, and created accessible legal tools as part of a larger commitment to public legal education.

My multilingual background and international education have shaped a practice that is responsive, culturally informed, and client-focused.
