Moira McAvoy gave me my life back. It sounds dramatic, but there’s no other way ofputting it. I was hours away from simply accepting criminal charges because I didn’t think I had any otheroptions. Other law firms wanted thousands of dollars up front just for retainer, and made pitiful attempts toscare me into hiring them. “Well you MIGHT not go to jail if you don’t go with us.” (This was a first-timeoffense that was grossly mishandled by CPS and never would have resulted in incarceration.)I decided to throw one last hail Mary and call LegalAid once more to see if they had any suggestions, and theysaid to call Oykhman.
